Project Overview:
Endeavour Energy approached Sydco to launch a vulnerability management program, using Qualys to identify, assess, and remediate security weaknesses across its OT environment.
Challenges:
- Many OT assets were running outdated firmware or unsupported operating systems.
- There was no centralized inventory or risk assessment process for OT vulnerabilities.
- Patching had to be carefully coordinated to avoid disrupting critical operations.
Solution:
Sydco deployed Qualys sensors in segmented OT zones to perform passive and authenticated scans. Assets were categorized by criticality, and vulnerabilities were prioritized based on exploitability and operational impact. A remediation workflow was established in coordination with engineering teams.
